Kitchen Extension
A new kitchen in a small timber frame extension to the rear of a dwelling in Looe.
The old brown kitchen was stripped from the building, the existing window was removed and the back wall of the kitchen taken down. Keeping the client’s time without a working kitchen was important so by this time a new timber framed extension had been built outside and surrounded by a brickwork outer skin with special attention paid to the colour matching of the bricks. The roof was finished in clay tiles to give the building some extra character. The window was re-used and new steels inserted to support the rear wall of the house. A new gloss white kitchen with integrated appliances and beech effect worktops was supplied and fitted. The wiring was renewed while all the walls and ceiling were re-skimmed.
Overall the kitchen size was almost doubled giving room for a new dining area and greatly improved work spaces.
